I was down with diarrhea for the past two days, and that was a really setback to my work progress. I only feel slightly better today. Nonetheless, I have gotta picked myself up and continue with work now.
I’m featuring yet another fake macro shots, taken with my Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 lens. That lens has a wonderful, and impressive close minimum focusing distance at 0.2m! That’s a very close-up range, if compared to many other non-macro lens. A typical prime 50mm, e.g. Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II, has minimum focusing distance of 0.45m. So, in a way, my Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 is somewhat a semi-macro lens to me.
Without a doubt, macro photography can be a very interesting subject. However, as I have repeated myself many times, macro lens will be at the bottom of my hunting list. I would not jump into Macro photography anytime soon.
Since my lens isn’t a true macro lens. I had to crop it to get the larger magnification factor on the image. I’m posting both the original shot (before crop), and the one after crop.
This shot was shot with a narrow aperture at ƒ10, and I had used a Nissin Off-camera flash cord to trigger the flash in E-TTL mode.
