Part 2 continues with 9 months, and Elle, as well as hair show from Cutting edge.

#5 9 months

9 months is a brand for maternity wear. The models are required to put on the pad on their abdomens to fake pregnancy for the show.

The showcase for 9 months marked the end of afternoon session. There were about 2 hours of interval between end of this show and the next.

#6 Cutting Edge (Hair Show)

Cutting Edge, a local hair salon and academy, has decided to put up a hair show for the night. As a prelude to the main show, they brought out a male dancer to entertain the crowd. It was quite an idea to have this dancer to dancing around the opening period, whilst introducing the models to the runway. That, actually reminded me of Justin Timberlake being a performing guest for one of the Victoria’s Secret’s lingerie fashion show in New York some time ago.

I thought the dancer had put up quite a show, and am personally quite impressed with the expression he had.

#7 Elle

The last show of the day started around 8pm that day, featuring Elle. The show felt like quite a short one, lasting probably less than 15 minutes. Or maybe cos the hairshow was lengthy one? But for sure, it was quite a long day for model, and myself. I was in the mall since before the first show at 2pm, and stayed thru to the last show which ended at around 8:15pm or 8:20pm.

The Fashion Week at the Spring resumes, on the 2nd day. Since they had 7 shows lined up for Day 2, I just had to split Day 2 into two posts. Day 2 features 7 brands, which are:

#1 G2000

Since I do not have a wide aperture tele zoom lens, it’s safer for me to shoot at 90mm focal length, as 300mm is prone for hand shake on the camera. However, the angel would not be flattering if I shoot at just 90mm. Hence, I decided to zoom in for change of angle form the previous day.

While playing with the zoom, I tried not to reach to the maximum zoom, where the widest aperture being limited at a smaller number of f/5.6. Most of the shots here are shot at f/5, if not f/4.5. I would have preferred to shoot with a wide aperture lens, such as f/1.8, or even f/2.8 is more than welcomed. Nevertheless, I had to make do with what I have.

Another point to take note is, the stage lighting caused strong shadow casting on most of the model’s face. The shadow cast on the eye area, especially, is most unflattering. Given this condition, I kept my flash firing. I had my Flash Exposure Compensation down to -1/3, while having a omnibounce-type diffuser on my flash.

The result? Smooth skin tone. It is quite a pleasant result, really. However, these shots are captured with strong day light in the mix of the available lighting.

As seen above, the shadow cast on the face isn’t as harsh, as the ones in my previous post.

#2 Ms. Read

#3 Esprit

Esprit was featured earlier in Day 1 during the private function. Most of them featured were repetition of Day 1′s show, only few minor changes in terms of shirts featured, and of course a shuffle of model casts.

#4 PDI

Same goes for PDI’s show, as it was one of the three brands featured in Day 1′s lineup. Most of the wardrobe were featured in Day 1, while feature a couple of different faces among the model casts, if compared to Day 1′s.

The hooded tees reminded me of Jay Chou’s Fantay album. :D I just have to bring this up.

The cap on the model did little help in eliminating the shadow cast on model’s face. At least with the assist of flash, the detail on the face is more visible than the ones without flash.
