Photoborneo Photoshoot Outing

Here are the photos from the photo shoot. The setting was supposed to be in some mini jungle nearby, but thanks to the rain, we had to ditch the original plan (by Candies), and to draft a new one. There were four models for the day, Aoki, Anne, April and Sasha. I managed to shoot Anne and Sasha only in that short span of time. And, only one shot of April.

Sasha’s shots:

The one and only shot of April. (Again, tweaked WB on camera). The outcome would have been better if reflector was used in this case.

Randomgraphy from Yesterday

Short Note: Lin Dan was beaten by a worthy champion and world #1 Lee Chong Wei in Swiss Open Final. Congrats to Lee Chong Wei!

It’s been a while since I last posted some fresh photos here. So, I decided to spare some time to go shooting. Sasha was nice enough to invite me to tag long the outing this weekend. If it hadn’t been for her, I wouldn’t have known anything about it.

Then, the most wonderful thing happened. Rain! Great! Now, that’s the last thing we would have wanted during a photo shoot outing. Thanks to the rain, we were stranded at the State Library. So, whilst waiting for the rain to stop (which it didn’t), I started doing some randomgraphy.

Rain, Rain

Soaked in rain, and walking slowly, as though they don’t even bother getting wet.

Rain, Rain

Rain, umbrella, and the rush.

Green in Rain

The greens in the rain. (Can see the rain drops or not? :P )

Staircase in State Library

The famous, and interesting see-through staircase inside the State Library.

Our presence sure drew a lot of attention from the people in the library.

Randomgraphy | Signs in State Library

Random signs in the library.

And, when I reached home at night, I saw these:

Randomgraphy | Fungus

Haha.. I somehow wished I have a true macro lens. :P

Randomgraphy | Fungus

Attempted strobist style, with a torch light! LOL! Apparently, the light was too harsh for the subject.

Randomgraphy | Fungus

That’s all for the randomgraphy for the day. The photos from the photo shoot outing will come next. I only had a handful of photos from that outing, so there isn’t much to show. I wasn’t in inspirational mood to shoot that day.

Rainforest World Music Festival 2008 Part 3

This is where the after-party party starts.

I managed to join in for drinking session after the performance ended, everyone just partied till sunrise. I didn’t last till that long.

Dance! Dance! Dance!

Man from Scotland.

This is what you get when you forget to adjust your speedlite’s head, and had the flash bounce off from the “umbrella” on the table.

Not the effect I want.

Flash bounce II

Flash bounce I

Here’s another shot with direct flash on the subject. I readjusted the speedlite’s head.

Rainforest World Music Festival 2008 Part 2

More pictures to share in Part 2.

Rain interrupted the fun on Day 3, but it was not long before people start to move back to the open space again. The rain didn’t really last long. It did caught me wet, as I ran for shelter to protect my 350D. Mind you, my entry-level DSLR isn’t as toughly built as the pro-levels like 1D Mk III or 1Ds Mk III.

Before the rain, I went on strolling around the Cultural Village, and I wondered to the Food avenue. People just relax over there, enjoying their food while enjoying the wonderful music at the background. They were even like having picnic by the lake side. (Is it even a lake?)

Visitors strolling at food bazaar.

The Big Heineken!

Can’t blame them if you find them drunk after the party. Such a huge Heineken there, it must be the sign!

I bumped into friends while I wondered off to this section, and not long after that, the rain started to fall. That’s when everyone ran for the big shelter just next to the performance stage. The performance went on, despite the crowd fleeing for roof that time.

Not long after, rain stopped, and everyone was back in the open space again.

Rain no more!

RWMF gaining its momentum once more.

It must be Heineken!

Commercial time, Beer Ad. “It must be Heineken!” Heineken may have got a new spoke-person/brand ambassador in Borneo. Hehe.
So the fun resumed, and everyone had a blast. (I think!)

Stage with spectacular lighting!

Well, so much for the text in this Part 2, I’ll let the rest of the photos do the talking.

Ahem!

More horns in the crowd. *cough*

More Crowd!

So the aftermath, muddified feet!

Muddied!

Some people even looked as though they just came out from a mud wrestling match!

High! High! High!

One of my favorite photos that night.

Ahem!
